What's new

What changed for clubs and their members in each RunClub HQ release, newest first. Not every release has something worth telling you about, so not every version appears here.

Each release is grouped by who it affects:

  • Public — your club's public website, the one anyone can visit without logging in.
  • Members — the member app, including the mobile app.
  • Club — everything your committee runs the club with: the volunteer console, the admin panel, and any automation tools connected through RunClub HQ.

Something marked Beta isn't switched on for every club yet — ask us if you'd like early access.

2.37 — 5 October 2026

Club

The support inbox now sorts mail from machines apart from requests from people. Payment reports from GoCardless and England Athletics mail arrive as Notifications: they stay open until someone marks them Reviewed (or swipes right in the list), they have no reply box or response countdown, and the team alert says Notification (no reply needed). A single Sort sheet in the volunteer console files a message as a request, a notification or spam, and can remember what to do with that sender's future mail. Support → Sender rules lists the rules your club has made. "Waiting for a reply" reminders now go out only for messages from people.

Money has a clearer trail. When Record Payment is given less than the invoice total, you tick Accept as paid in full to confirm it, and the shortfall and who accepted it are recorded. More than the total, or money arriving for a cancelled invoice, is kept as owed back to the payer and the Treasurer is told. On a cash or bank-transfer payment, Record money given back logs the money returned, shown on the payment under Money given back and included in the full club export. Recording a cash or bank payment while a Direct Debit is pending now cancels the Direct Debit, and cancelling an invoice cancels any payment still on its way. Treasurers can remove a member's payment method and collect payments, and a campaign in review can be cancelled.

Other changes for volunteers and admins:

  • Add Registration can add someone back to an event after they cancelled or were declined.
  • Edit medical info opens with the member's current details filled in. Opening View or Summary for medical details is recorded in the access log.
  • A message's recipient list shows Sending while a send is under way, and a recipient whose send was interrupted shows as Failed with the reason, ready to resend.
  • Row and bulk actions follow the same permissions as the rest of the panel, and the records queue explains any bulk decision it can't carry out.

2.36 — 2 October 2026

Public

Your club's website now shows only the parts of RunClub HQ your club uses. When your club hides events or club records, their pages, menu links and page sections are left out of the website until you switch them back on.

Members

Members only see the parts of RunClub HQ their club has switched on. A hidden part has no tab and nothing on the home screen, and an old link to it takes a member back home with a short note that it isn't available at their club yet. A new help article, Why can't I see events or results at my club?, explains it, and says that entries, paid tickets and results are all kept.

Club

Your club can now choose which parts of RunClub HQ it uses, under Settings → Club features. Events, Check-in, Results, Club records and Competitions can each be On, Off, or Preparing, which shows a feature to volunteers and the committee so you can set it up before members see it. Before anything is hidden, a check lists what it affects at your club, with numbers: upcoming events people have entered, results and record claims waiting for review, menu links on your website and unpaid event invoices. Nothing is deleted, and switching a feature back on shows everything again. See Club features.

2.34 — 27 September 2026

Members

Household-change emails, and the email sent when a renewal payment doesn't go through, now arrive once rather than twice. Short support replies show apostrophes and quote marks correctly in the emails you receive too. The page you see after paying inside the app now matches your phone's light or dark setting, with the Return to App button in your club's own colour.

Beta — ask us to switch this on for your club. Members at a club on the card payments beta can now pay by card as well as Direct Debit. Where a club takes both, card appears once you've said you can't pay from a UK bank account — unless your club has already marked you as a card payer. Guests and non-members paying for an event or merchandise now pay by instant bank payment, with no Direct Debit to set up.

Club

Setting up your club's membership is now safer to get right. A season, membership type or fee added by mistake can be deleted outright, as long as nobody has subscribed, renewed or been invoiced against it — the confirmation tells you exactly what would go with it, and anything with history can be switched off instead. Set up this season and Set up next season, on the seasons page, walk you through pricing with a short checklist for a new club, and next season's prices now start from this season's own rather than a flat default. Every change to a season, type or fee — price changes included — is recorded in your activity log, you can tell RunClub HQ which month your club's membership year starts under Settings → Registration, and while your club has no membership history yet a Club Admin can start the setup again from the example one.

The members you already have can now be recorded straight into the current season from the members list. Choose a membership type yourself, or let RunClub HQ suggest one from each member's age and England Athletics status, and check the preview before saving — nobody is charged, and everyone recorded is included when you run your first renewal campaign. A membership recorded by mistake can be removed again until someone pays or renews against it.

Ask us to switch this on for your club. We can now bring a club's members across from a spreadsheet or another system alongside you: upload the file, map its columns and values, and review a preview — proposed households included — before anything is written to your members. The whole run can still be undone afterwards, for as long as nothing depends on it yet.

If a member cancels a paid place and your cancellation policy owes them a refund, but it can't be paid automatically — because they paid by bank transfer or cash, say — Club Admins and Treasurers now get a Refund to issue by hand alert naming the member, the event and the amount. And if a member ever pays twice by accident, the extra money is tracked as owed back to them: the treasurer is told, and it now sits in its own "Owed back" line on your finance statement and treasurer's report, instead of reducing your Refunds figure — so your surplus and closing balance reflect only the club's own money. Issuing a refund now needs finance access, so it's limited to Treasurers and other admins with it.

Payout and remittance alerts to treasurers now arrive once per payout, not twice, and short support replies show apostrophes and quote marks correctly in the emails your support team receives. The screen for connecting an AI assistant to your club now matches the rest of RunClub HQ, including dark mode.

Beta — ask us to switch this on for your club. The AI check on results and record claims can now read World Road Running Championships and Copenhagen Half runner pages directly against the official results. And when a claim links to a page listing every result at an event rather than the race's own results, the reviewer is now told exactly that.

Beta — ask us to switch this on for your club. Clubs on the card payments beta can now connect their own Stripe account alongside Direct Debit. Where both are connected, a new "How members can pay" settings section chooses, for each kind of payment, when card is offered to members — and anyone who manages members can mark someone as a card payer.

2.33 — 18 September 2026

Public

The public Events page's format filter now reads clearly — "Half Marathon (21.1km)" rather than a raw figure in metres.

Members

Age grades for half marathon and marathon results are now calculated against the exact race distances the standard tables use, so the percentage you see is accurate rather than estimated between neighbouring distances.

A plain-text club email — the version your inbox shows when it can't render the styled one — now displays apostrophes and unsubscribe links correctly.

Club

Support tickets are now split from the noise around them: England Athletics and GoCardless notifications land on their own tab instead of the main queue, so Needs Response shows only what a volunteer actually has to answer, and response times and SLA warnings count real enquiries only. Marking a message as spam can now block the sender's whole domain rather than just one address, which stops the repeat waves that arrive from a fresh address every time — a domain any of your own members use can never be blocked, and there's a Spam tab and a Not spam action for anything caught by mistake.

Editing an event's location, date, time or other details in the volunteer console now opens as its own page rather than a slide-up panel, so the whole form stays reachable on a phone — even with the keyboard open.

Sending a migrated member their welcome email now skips anyone who's already had one, and doing so is limited to Club Admin and Membership Manager. The renewal campaign dashboard's day countdowns now show a whole number of days.

Beta — ask us to switch this on for your club. The AI check on results and record claims can now read more of the results websites those claims link to directly — including Athlinks's full results — so fewer claims are turned away unchecked. And a results website we can't check automatically now says so plainly, rather than leaving a claim looking like it's still waiting.

2.32 — 18 September 2026

Public

Your club's website can now carry a competition table. Add a Competition Standings section to any page, pick the competition, and visitors see the top few runners in each category — with a season switcher where the competition has run for more than one year, and an optional line inviting members to sign in for their own breakdown. Only a competition you have marked as readable by anyone appears; a members-only or draft table shows nothing at all.

Members

If your club runs a competition you are in, you can now see exactly where you stand. Your own place, your total and how many of your races counted sit above the club's full table, with How your total was made opening the working race by race — including why a race did not count, when one did not. A Your season line on your home screen says where you are and how many races are left to change it, and taps straight through. While the season is running the page says so, so a table that moves as results come in reads as normal rather than as a mistake.

Club

Clubs can now run a scored competition over a season of fixtures, under Events → Competitions — a championship, a grand prix, a points table, whatever your club calls it. Start from one of five presets — each one a real running club's own rules — and change the numbers: which races count, what one race is worth, how many of them add up, the category bands, and the date a runner's age is fixed on. Preview standings scores the season from today's results without saving anything, so a rule can be tried before anybody sees it. Opening the competition publishes the table and keeps it up to date as results are reviewed, corrected and imported; closing it works the table out once more and marks it final.

Beta — ask us to switch this on for your club. Awards at the close — the medals, the most-improved and the roll of everybody who ran every fixture — are not switched on for every club yet.

In the volunteer console, Performance → Competitions shows the table with each runner's breakdown a tap away, and a Reconcile list of every result at a fixture that scored nothing and why — most often a date of birth or a gender missing from a member's record. Connected assistants can list a club's competitions, read a table and create one from a preset. See Club competitions.

2.31 — 14 September 2026

Public

A link to a club record, event, news post or page shared on social media now shows a card drawn in the club's own colours, logo and typeface — a record leads with the holder's name, an event with its date and time — rather than a plain logo or nothing at all. Every record on the board now links straight through to its own history, and where two members have run exactly the same time, the club record is credited consistently to whoever set it first, wherever it's shown. Older news articles can now be found by search engines following links from the news page rather than only through the site map, and saving a club's site to an iPhone home screen now picks up the club's own icon.

Members

The app now runs as a proper native iPad app — filling the screen, with the tab bar and navigation laid out for the size of screen you're on, rather than a stretched phone layout. If signing in on the mobile app is ever interrupted partway through, trying again now reliably reopens the browser rather than leaving you to start over.

If a club asks you to choose a different membership type when you renew, the renewal page says so and holds off asking for payment until you've chosen one — and it's clear once your choice is awaiting approval, and once your renewal is confirmed. An event's registration amendments now close when registration itself does, rather than staying open right up to the start. And where two members have run exactly the same time, the club record you see in the app is credited consistently to whoever set it first.

Club

A volunteer with access to an event — or anyone with the Events Manager role — can now fix its location, date, time, title, description, end date or duration straight from the event page in the console, without needing the full admin editor. Everyone who plans to attend is emailed and notified if the location or start time changes, so nobody turns up at the old place or time. The volunteer console gets the same native iPad treatment as the member app, so a run leader working from a tablet sees the right layout too.

The volunteer console's England Athletics actions now match the admin panel's in full — the member's details ready to copy, a pre-filled reference number, payment notes, and the ability to complete a transfer, all without leaving the console.

Rejecting a member's requested membership type on a household renewal now holds that renewal until they choose a different one, and the membership-type list shows each type's validity for the current season. Approving or rejecting a member's requested type now updates their renewal straight away, with the list showing who's still waiting on a decision. Check-in lists show each runner's gender, and event tickets show the venue address. The renewals and payment-methods exports are tidier too — empty approval columns are gone, and a card expiry column has been added.

Merging a duplicate support ticket into the original carries its replies and attachments across, closes the duplicate, and records who merged it. And a failed automatic payment now appears once in the club's activity log, rather than twice.

2.29 — 11 September 2026

Public

Your club's website now publishes a plain-text summary for AI assistants, at /llms.txt — what the club is, where it's based, your next fixtures with dates and start times, your pages and news, and how to join. It's built entirely from what you've already published, so there's nothing to fill in. It never lists members and never quotes a fee, and it switches off automatically during a pilot or if you've turned on Discourage Search Engines.

Members

A place that comes free from the waiting list now tells you when it needs paying for, with a link that pays it straight away — no signing in first. A reminder always arrives before a place is released back to the list, and a place that opens up too close to the event to give fair notice is confirmed for you outright, with the fee collected afterwards.

If a Direct Debit payment is ever interrupted partway through — a closed tab, a dropped connection — trying again now simply picks up where you left off, rather than telling you a payment is already in progress.

Club

A new Unpaid Places section under Settings → Events lets a club set how long someone has to pay for a place that's come free, how close to the event that window can open, and the shortest window anyone should ever be given. Sending a payment request from an invoice now emails a link that works without a sign-in too. See Events.

2.28 — 10 September 2026

Public

Your club's public records page now follows the England Athletics age groups introduced in April 2026 — U10, U12, U14, U16, U18 and U20 — with a junior's category fixed on 31 August and held for the whole year, rather than changing on their birthday part-way through the season. A record set under the old groups keeps the group it was set in, marked "(pre-2026)", so a record set in the U15 age group stays a U15 record, and any existing link to it still works. See Results and club records.

Members

The same new age groups carry through to your own category and your club's records list in the app, with any record set under the old groups still marked "(pre-2026)".

You can now invite someone already in the club to join your household — search for them by name, and they're asked to accept. The invitation also arrives by email and can be declined there without signing in. If you're old enough to have joined the club on your own, you can now leave a household yourself too, taking your membership, results and any renewal in progress with you.

Club

Club records now follow the same new age groups. A few results claimed for races run since April 2026 may still be filed under the old ones — ask us and we'll run a check for your records officer to review.

Households with just one member are now easy to find: clear the Multi-member households only filter under Members → Households, so two members who joined separately can be brought into one household. Move to Another Household on a member's record can now move anyone, asking who takes over the household they leave behind, and Make Owner hands a household to someone else in one step. A member's Household tab now shows who else is in the household, grouped together, with a link through to the household record.

2.27 — 9 September 2026

Public

Public event listings now say more to search engines and AI assistants that read them: a free session says it's free, an event for a set age group says who it's for, and an event with limited places shows how many are left. A race organised by another club is now credited to that club rather than to yours.

Typing into a form field on a phone — the age grade calculator especially — no longer makes the whole page zoom in.

Members

The Remove check-in button in the check-in screens now works first time. The green "Checked in" marker on a member's event card, dashboard and event page is easier to read, and now appears once rather than twice.

Events with an end date now keep registration open for the whole of their last day, and a multi-day event now shows its full length in a subscribed calendar rather than finishing a day early.

Club

A new Download your data page, under Settings, lets a Club Admin take a copy of everything the club holds — members, payments, events, results and more — as a set of files, ready to keep or move elsewhere. Website pages, news posts and the document library can be included too, coming out as plain text and image files that open in any editor. Answering a member who asks what the club holds about them is now one click from their own record too: Download their data produces a plain-language summary alongside the same information as a spreadsheet.

Team managers and anyone else with access to the Members screen can now export the active roster as a spreadsheet themselves, filtered to the age categories and columns they need for a team entry, rather than asking an admin for it.

A club already collecting Direct Debit through GoCardless before joining RunClub HQ now has its existing mandates brought in automatically when it connects its account, rather than setting each one up again from scratch.

When a booking covers several people sharing one payment — a member and their guests, say — Refund & Cancel can now refund just one person's own share, showing who else the payment covers and confirming they'll stay registered. The full booking can still be refunded in one go when that's what's needed, and what comes back is always what that person actually paid, even if prices have changed since.

An event with its capacity set to zero now shows consistently as full and closed to registration everywhere — the console, the member app and the public page. Leaving capacity blank still means no limit.

Club branding settings can now record a proper structured address — line, town, county, postcode and country — instead of one free-text box.

2.26 — 8 September 2026

Members

Off by default — set these up under Settings → Club Configuration → Community Links. Once you do, the Linked Accounts page shows real buttons through to your club's Strava Club and WhatsApp community. Members who haven't linked a parkrun ID yet get a friendly prompt to register, and members with England Athletics data get a link to learn more about it on their affiliations page.

Club

The new Community Links page, under Settings → Club Configuration, is where you add those Strava and WhatsApp addresses and switch the parkrun and England Athletics prompts on or off.

There's also a new Results Reviewer role, for whoever should clear the results queue without needing an Events Manager's wider event-management access. If an Events Manager currently handles that queue for your club, give them the new role too — Events Manager on its own no longer covers it.

2.25 — 8 September 2026

Public

A club's homepage "Join now" button now stays clearly visible even before a hero photo has been uploaded, rather than blending into the flat colour behind it.

If your club has event weather switched on, a location can now be marked as indoor — a sports hall, track centre or gym. Events held there stop showing a forecast on the public Events page and event page, since a roof means it isn't needed.

Members

The same indoor marker carries into the member app: for clubs with weather switched on, an indoor event's card and its own page no longer show a forecast.

A member placed on the waitlist for a full event now sees a clear "You're on the waitlist" message on the registration screen, the quick-register confirmation, and the single-tap "Join Waitlist" button, rather than being told they're registered. And moving up from the waitlist into a paid place now always sends the confirmation email with the invoice, however the event was set up.

Club

Indoor venues carry through to the volunteer console's week-ahead view too, so a session held indoors no longer shows conditions that don't apply to it.

Staff can now see and use "Refund & Cancel" on a paid event registration from the admin panel.

2.24 — 7 September 2026

Members

If your club offers a refund for cancelling a paid event, cancelling it now pays that refund out automatically, rather than waiting for a volunteer to notice and process it by hand. The policy is shown before you pay for a ticketed or registered event, and again if you later cancel, so you always know what you'd get back.

If your personal calendar link is ever reset, your calendar app now tells you the subscription has ended, so you know to fetch a fresh one rather than watching a diary that's simply stopped updating.

Club

Clubs can now set their own cancellation and refund policy for paid events under Settings → Club Configuration → Events — a full-refund cutoff, a partial-refund cutoff and percentage, and an optional cancellation fee. It's off by default, so nothing changes for a club until it sets one. And when staff refund and cancel someone's place on a full, waitlisted event, the next person waiting is now automatically offered the freed spot.

Club at a Glance's website readership figures are more accurate too: automated checks and calendar apps re-fetching a subscribed events feed are no longer counted as visits, so the trend reflects real people looking at the site.

2.23 — 7 September 2026

Public

A club's public Events page can now show a Calendar feed link, so a visitor can subscribe to what's coming up in their own calendar app — Google, Apple or Outlook — without needing to create an account.

Members

The same Calendar feed is now available from inside the member app too, alongside a new settings page for managing it: a feed of your own registrations, a feed of everything the whole club has on, and a way to reset your personal link if it's ever shared somewhere it shouldn't be.

Tapping a "new club record" or "reached a milestone" story in the club feed now opens the record's history or the session itself inside the app, rather than out to a browser tab. Opening an event, a ticket, or any of the registration, membership and renewal screens no longer flashes an error message while the page loads. A featured image on a news article now sits flush above the text at every screen size, and the "too far to check in" button now shows just the distance and a refresh icon rather than repeating the venue's name.

Age grades for track results are now calculated against the track standards, giving a more accurate percentage for track times.

Beta — ask us to switch this on for your club. Training sessions held at a venue with no mapped route can now show ground conditions too, once that venue records what members run on there — not just the occasional race that already has a course.

Club

Volunteer console links sent by email — a support ticket reply, for instance — now open the installed app directly instead of a browser tab.

Beta — ask us to switch this on for your club. A venue can now record what members run on there — grass, trail, road — so every session held there shows ground conditions after rain, not only races with a mapped course.

2.22 — 5 September 2026

Public

Beta — ask us to switch this on for your club. Someone deciding whether to come along on Tuesday can now see what Tuesday actually looks like: every event in the public listings, and the event's own page, carries the conditions expected while it's on.

Members

Beta — ask us to switch this on for your club. Every event now shows what the weather will do while you're actually out — the temperature it will feel like, how conditions change across the run, what to bring, and whether you'll finish in the dark. Where something is out of the ordinary — real heat, a hard frost, poor air quality — the panel says so, quoting the guidance of the body that sets the threshold.

Club

Beta — ask us to switch this on for your club. The volunteer week-ahead now carries a conditions column, so whoever's planning a session sees the week at a glance. It states the conditions rather than a decision — the risk assessment UK Athletics asks every club to make stays the club's own call.

2.21 — 5 September 2026

Public

Signing in and creating an account are now clearly separate steps on your club's sign-in page, so someone new to the club can get started in the very place your members already sign in.

Members

Notification settings are more precise: email and push can now be switched on or off separately for every kind of update — messages, polls, results and more — rather than one setting covering everything sent that way. Volunteers get the same choice over the alerts they receive for support tickets and record claims.

Marking an external event as attending no longer sends the registration-confirmed email meant for the club's own events. And switching between your own account and a child's on the member app now shows the right person's event status and name throughout, not a mix of the two.

Claiming a club record from a result now takes you straight into a pre-filled application — and once a claim is in, it can't accidentally be sent in twice while it's waiting for review.

Someone whose membership a club has closed now hears why by email, in the one place only they can read it, rather than on the sign-in page.

Club

Clubs can now turn Accepting New Members on or off under Settings → Registration → Registration Policy, and explain why in their own words — rather than the join button leading to a dead end after someone's already clicked it.

A club's England Athletics club ID now saves correctly everywhere it's entered — Branding settings, club setup, or the landlord's lead-matching tool — even when that ID happens to be a plain number.

2.20 — 5 September 2026

Public

A club's public Events page can now be browsed back through what's already happened, not just what's still ahead. Browsing or searching now groups events clearly under "Upcoming" and "Past" headings.

Members

The home screen's diary now shows just today's and tomorrow's events, so the club-life feed underneath is easy to reach even on a busy week. Anything further ahead doesn't disappear — it still shows up further down the page, in the feed itself.

Club

Clubs can now give team managers and captains a role suited to them: a new Captain role in the volunteer console, with the whole club directory (contact details included), events, results and club records, but none of a full admin's finance, content or settings access. Medical and emergency information stays behind the same audited reveal as every other role. The Treasurer role can now also be assigned from the admin panel's Users screen.

2.19 — 4 September 2026

Members

Signing in is more consistent: a sign-in link and a sign-in code now both last 10 minutes, and the email states that correctly for both. A sign-in code now has to be entered on the same device that asked for it. RunClub HQ sets this window for every club now, rather than each club choosing its own.

Joining a club now checks your address is complete — street, town and postcode — before you reach payment. And entering a race time on your phone is easier too: the keypad now gives you the colon and decimal point you need, and a time under a minute can be entered as well. See Results and club records.

Files attached to a support conversation now open properly in the mobile app — tap one and it opens in your phone's own viewer, ready to read, save or share.

Club

Beta — ask us to switch this on for your club. Treasurers now get a full toolkit, not just a season report. A one-time setup wizard turns the season's payments into a real financial-year account: a receipts-and-payments statement tied to the bank, a transaction listing with a running balance, a budget the committee can agree and reforecast against membership volumes and dated planned payments, and a treasurer's report that pulls it all together for a meeting, with a year-end pack ready for an independent examiner. Expense claims are simpler for a member to file too — no category to guess at, since the treasurer sets that (and, where one applies, the item) when they approve, and can retag a claim afterwards if it needs to move. See Finances and the Expense claims playbook.

Poll invitation and reminder emails can now be rewritten in your club's own voice, the same way as every other email your club sends, under Settings → Communications → Email Templates. Once a poll has gone out, the poll itself and the polls list say when it was sent and how many members it reached, and the activity log is clear if a send did not complete. See Polls.

Entering or amending someone else's result in the console is quicker too, with the same clearer time field members now get — useful standing at the finish line on a phone.

Role names in the admin panel are now Club Admin, Membership Manager and Viewer — clearer for anyone new to the committee, with nothing changed about what each role can do. Members also have 21 more answers waiting for them in Help, and error messages across the member app are clearer when something does not load.

2.18 — 3 September 2026

Members

New members can now take a short guided tour the first time they open the app, spotlighting where to find events, log a result and get help — it can be replayed any time from Help. Anyone managing more than one person in a household can now switch who they're acting as from anywhere in the app, not only from Home. A member invited by their club signs in to find their England Athletics details already filled in, with just a few things left to add before reaching their dashboard.

The mobile app now keeps showing your dashboard, events and results if your connection drops, with a small banner rather than a blank screen, and moving between Events and My Events feels smoother. There's also a new "What's new" link next to the version number in Settings, with a badge when there's something worth seeing.

Not seeing the latest version?

If the app on your phone looks a few versions behind, open Settings → Advanced and tap Revert to App Store Version. It refreshes the app to the latest release in one step, without affecting your login — worth trying if things look a little out of date.

Club

Check-in actions in the volunteer console now respect the venue's geofence for every check-in method, not only self check-in — and a household manager who also volunteers on check-in can check in their own family again.

Finding your club in England Athletics no longer means knowing your club number: type your club or town name in Settings → Branding and pick it from the list, then import your roster straight away. That import is now more careful too, bringing in athletes who are currently registered to compete and holding anyone else in a review queue for a volunteer to check.

Clubs running a pilot now get a live checklist on their dashboard of what's left before going live, including connecting England Athletics and setting up your RunClub HQ subscription — and there's no separate pilot agreement to sign, since our published terms cover a pilot from day one.

Selecting recipients for a message is easier too: search results show enough detail to tell same-named members apart, and your selected list gets its own scrollable space so it doesn't crowd the rest of the form. Admins get the same "What's new" link in the panel footer.

2.17 — 2 September 2026

Members

Returning members now have a smoother path back in: rejoining and paying can be done in one go, and a renewal reminder on the dashboard can be snoozed or dismissed once it's been dealt with. A household manager who isn't attached to a household is now offered a clear way in — either becoming a member themselves or registering someone else. Members can once again tell the club about all four parts of their running profile — goals, interests and anything else worth knowing — and the sign-up and registration forms along the way got smoother too.

Beta — ask us to switch this on for your club. Results and record claims now get a second pair of eyes. When a member submits a race time or a record claim with a link to the results page it came from, reviewers in the volunteer console can see an AI-generated check of whether that page backs up the claim, with the exact line it read and a short explanation alongside it. It's there to support the reviewer's own judgement, not replace it.

Staff can invite a household manager by email straight from the console, and volunteers can now see a member's running goals and interests on their directory record. And if something isn't working, there's now a way to contact RunClub HQ support without leaving the club console.

Every new club now gets a starter homepage the moment it's set up.

Links on the member dashboard now move you within the app instead of reloading the whole page, which makes the member app feel noticeably quicker. A prospect who has filled in their details but not yet agreed their consents now reaches their dashboard. And in the mobile app, first sign-in after installing now completes smoothly.

Volunteers can now add a race from the New Event form in the volunteer console, rather than only a club night — so the person building next month's diary on their phone doesn't have to wait until they're back at a laptop. The pilot band across the top of the screen no longer overlaps the first line of a page, and a committee member with an admin login but no member record now lands straight in the console instead of being sent round the joining form.

Building a page stopped needing a developer. A club's site is now put together from sections — a hero photograph, a map of the meeting point, frequently asked questions, sponsor logos, a photo gallery, a document library, a contact form — so the committee lays a page out in the club's own words and photographs, and can give any built-in page its own opening line. A league or race series gets its own page with a way back to earlier seasons, and a session's courses, team results and full results now sit on the event page itself rather than somewhere else. A club can also give its site its own display font and its own icon in the browser tab, and connect an Instagram feed straight onto a page. Behind the scenes, search engines and shared links now get more to work with — a picture on every link that gets shared, and event and results information they can read properly. See building your club's website for what a page can carry.

The member app and the mobile app converged onto one shell, so a member sees the same screens and the same design wherever they sign in, moves between them without the page reloading, and gets app updates applied quietly in the background. Opening a link from an email — a renewal reminder, a ticket reply, a poll invitation — now lands on the right screen whether or not the app is installed. A member can pay a single invoice, or complete a renewal, straight from the email it arrived on, with no sign-in needed. Add a race lets a member (or someone managing their household) put a race they've done onto their own diary and submit a result for it, receipts and record claims included, from their phone. And a season of polls arrived: the committee asks a question, a member answers it from the app or by email, and the results come back to everyone who took part once it closes — see Polls.

Two other things quietly changed for the better: many screens now carry a Get help with this link straight into RunClub HQ's help library, so a question gets answered without leaving the app, and a member can once again see their own running goals and interests reflected back to them on their profile.

Club

The volunteer console arrived this summer as the place day-to-day club work actually happens — on a phone, standing up. Check-in and the door list, records and results, support tickets, the member directory, and Club at a Glance all moved there over the following weeks. Club at a Glance itself grew into the season's dashboard (see Club at a Glance): a three-tier read on who is drifting away, an engagement trend by stage, and headline numbers a committee can read once and trust. Behind it, a season-attributed Finances report now sits alongside Club at a Glance, with a Treasurer role built for it, and finance volunteers can work through members' expense claims — approve, reject or mark one paid, receipt attached.

Joining the club got a proper home too: everyone trying the club out now shows up on one list, with where they've got to and whether they need a nudge, and a start nobody came back to finish quietly closes itself down after a few months instead of sitting there forever. Results and record claims get the same treatment — courses, team results and a member's own submitted time all land in one place for a reviewer to check (see Club Records), and an England Athletics second claim or transfer now goes through automatically rather than by hand.

Ask us to switch this on for your club. Mailing lists let a small group email a whole roster without anyone's address being visible to anyone else: every post is checked before it goes out, a member can opt out list by list, and a list can open itself to posts from any member instead of a fixed roster.

A club can also have its outgoing email sent from its own domain instead of RunClub HQ's — we'll set the DNS side up with you. Once your domain is verified we switch your sending across automatically, with a safety net back to our address if verification ever lapses. See Custom Email Domain.

And for the committee's peace of mind: role changes, emergency-information reads and failed sign-ins are all recorded on an activity log a committee member can actually read (System → Activity Log in the admin panel) — see Activity Log & Audit Trail.
