Give an imported member a sign-in
Someone brought in by your England Athletics import — or added by another household member — exists as a full record but has no way to sign in yet. That's deliberate: a roster isn't a mailing list, and nobody's inbox fills up until you decide it should. This recipe gives one person a login.
Who: Club Admin. Where: the admin panel, the member's record. Takes: about 1 minute.
Before you start
Have the member's email address to hand. Enable login only appears for a member who doesn't already have one and who is 13 or older — a younger member needs a household manager to act for them instead.
Giving several people a login at once? Select them from the roster and use the bulk Enable login action instead of doing this one at a time — see Members and households → Give a member a sign-in.
Steps
- Open Members → All Members and find the member. Open their record.
- Choose Enable login.
- Enter the Email address they'll sign in with.

- Confirm. You'll see Login enabled, and who it went to.
What happens next
- They're emailed a link to sign in — there's no password to set.
- Because their details already came from England Athletics, the wizard they land in skips straight past the questions we already have answers to: no name or date of birth to re-enter, just what England Athletics doesn't tell us — their running interests — and the club's agreements.
- Nothing about their membership status changes just from having a login. They're still whatever status they were — most often a prospect — until they actually join.
If it does not work
Enable login doesn't appear on their record
Either they already have a login, or they're under 13 — check their date of birth. A member under 13 needs a household manager with their own login instead; see Invite a household manager if nobody in their household has one yet.
The invitation says the club has used all its member logins
During a pilot, your club can only create so many logins at once — usually 25, and it counts logins, not records, so importing four hundred people doesn't use any of them up until you start enabling logins. Remove one that's no longer needed, or ask us to raise the limit.
They never received the email
Check the address for a typo, and ask them to check spam. There's no resend on an existing invitation — entering the same address again through Enable login sends a fresh one.
They say the wizard is asking things they've already told England Athletics
That's expected — their name and date of birth are locked and pre-filled from the import, and the wizard only asks for what England Athletics doesn't hold: running interests and the club's own agreements.
